Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our practice and therapies

I’ve never had Musculoskeletal Therapy before, can you explain what it is and if it would be a suitable treatment for me?

Musculoskeletal Therapy sits between Remedial Massage and Physiotherapy. It is a physical therapy treatment that uses assessment, hands on treatment and rehabilitation to treat a range of conditions from massage, joint mobilization, dry needling, neural mobilization, thermal applications; as well as rehabilitative exercise prescription. Musculoskeletal Therapy can treat a variety of conditions and concerns, from acute to chronic pain, occupational, degenerative and sporting related injuries. This treatment could benefit anyone who experiences stress and discomfort – incorporating regular Musculoskeletal Therapy into your life can help maintain optimal musculoskeletal health and prevent injury and inflammation.

How about Myotherapy, Dry Needling and Acupuncture?

Myotherapy is a form of physical therapy which focuses on the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal pain and associated pathologies. A new name of Musculoskeletal Therapy.

Dry Needling is the process of a needle inserted into a muscle, bone periosteum or other soft tissue structure with the purpose to reduce muscle tension, improve pain control and normalise neural function.
